Facility Update

Throughout this entire situation, Mari de Villa has tried to stay one step ahead of Coronavirus. Last week in our update we indicated that we were going to be initiating screening for Covid-19 with serology testing. On May 11th and May 12th, we administered rapid result serology tests to all staff, administration, and therapy department.  These tests indicate if IgG and/or IgM antibodies are present, which will help identify if there was anyone that had a previous infection and possibly recovered or if anyone has a current infection and could be asymptomatic.

Following the completion of screening of all of our staff, we are able to report that every test was negative for Covid-19!

We are very pleased to see that the precautions, both on and off site have been working. The reason that we have been able to achieve such success thus far is truly because of the remarkable efforts of Mari de Villa’s staff. While at work our staff take all the precautions very serious and continue to ensure that your loved ones are taken care of. Further, they are applying these same precautions outside of work. There is not enough that we can say about how proud we are of all the staff at Mari de Villa.

While we are proud that all of our efforts have lead to these results, we remain humbled by the severity of this virus. This by no means is an opportunity for any of us to let our guard down, but rather reinforces the processes we have had in place.

We remain committed to the residents, staff, and families throughout all of this.

Hallway Bingo and Social Hour
Even though the dining and living rooms have remained closed during this time, we have worked on ways to stay engaged with our residents.
Yesterday we had residents sitting outside of their doors for "Hallway Bingo"!  Everyone had a great time playing together while still keeping a safe distance!

Today our activity and dietary staff went room to room with a beverage cart serving everyone's favorite drink with some shrimp cocktail or snack of their choice!

We will continue to do our best to come up with ideas to keep everyone engaged and happy throughout this period.

Food Drive
Last week we had a food drive to benefit the Circle of Concern. We truly appreciate everyone that participated and we are happy to report that we were able to fill the trailer with food and necessitates for people in need during this crisis.

Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions. We appreciate everyone’s understanding throughout all of this.

All of us at Mari de Villa understand this is a very difficult time for our families and we want to do everything we can to ensure that your loved ones are taken care of. We are continuing to provide the same level of care, and then some! Please reach out at anytime for updates, questions, concerns.
As always, we can be reached 24 hours per day. Do not hesitate to reach out at anytime.
