Facility Update & Reopening Plans

As we all approach a year of responding to the Coronavirus and how it has greatly impacted every aspect of day to day life, we want to begin by saying thank you for everyone’s understanding through this time.  We have continually had the safety and well being of all residents and staff as our number one priority.

The upfront challenge of Covid-19 speak for themselves, however the secondary effects are arguably just as troubling, primarily with regard to the separation between our residents and their families.  While we have tried to implement a new method of staying in communication among one another, it will never replace visiting between people.  The idea of seeing someone at a moment’s notice was quickly taken away and arguably was easily taken for granted by all. Mari de Villa knows how important it is for our families and residents to meet in person and quite honestly, it is something that we greatly miss. We cannot wait for the day that we can open without hesitation and have families and friends come freely to visit at anytime.

In the coming weeks our staff will begin the process of safely reopening. In addition to a majority of all residents and staff receiving both doses of the Moderna Vaccine, we have also been free from any new cases of Covid-19 for over 4 weeks.  Beginning next week we will begin to allow for the dining rooms to reopen for all of our guests.  The following week of March 8th we will begin to allow for indoor visits as well as the hair dressers and beauticians to return!  Over the previous year we have been quick to establish precautions and cautious to loosen any, and we intend to follow that similar path moving forward.  All indoor visits will need to be reserved as the reopening guidance suggests that, if possible, we will need to have a designated location for indoor visits.  We will do everything we can to make as many accommodations as possible, however we will also ask for your understanding while we all work through these times.  In addition, we will ask that you understand that other families will be trying to make reservations during these first few weeks. We will also be expanding different group activities as well safe options for our afternoon social hour. Over the next few weeks we will continue to monitor and evaluate the reopening plans and will make changes accordingly.

By February 25th, we will have the website updated with additional details.

Thank you again for everyone’s understanding throughout this past year! We will continue to work through this together! It has been a long year and we are very excited to begin to have everyone back!
